Celebrating Sam Palmiere’s Retirement

After an incredible 53 years dedicated to serving and protecting our community, Sam Palmiere is officially retiring! His remarkable career began with the Tonawanda Police Department and concluded with the Department of Justice in Buffalo, leaving an indelible mark on law enforcement throughout Western New York.

Sam’s commitment extends far beyond his official duties. As a dedicated board member of the 100 Club of Buffalo, he’s been a tireless advocate for first responders and their families, offering unwavering support and leadership. In a truly deserving moment, Sam received the Lifetime Service Award in 2024 at the 100 Club of Buffalo’s annual Hero Awards dinner, a testament to his profound impact.

His extensive career includes an impressive 33 years of service with the Town of Tonawanda Police Department, 13 of those as Chief of Police. He then dedicated another 20 years to the Department of Justice, continuing his vital work. Beyond these roles, Sam has been an active participant in numerous key organizations and initiatives, including the Erie County Chiefs of Police, Western New York Chiefs of Police, and New York State Chiefs of Police. He also served as a director and past president of the Erie County Law Enforcement Foundation. For two decades, he also generously shared his vast knowledge, teaching law enforcement at Hilbert College.

We are immensely grateful for Sam’s unparalleled service, his inspiring leadership, and his unwavering dedication to the safety and well-being of our community. Congratulations, Sam, on an extraordinary career. We are incredibly fortunate to have had you as part of the 100 Club family and wish you nothing but the very best in this well-deserved next chapter.
