How Membership Growth Supports First Responders

By September 1, 2026News

In Western New York, the members of the 100 Club of Buffalo have a lasting impact on first responders, and the communities they serve. Since 1957, the organization has remained committed to supporting local police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and their families through financial assistance, educational support, and community-based programs.

At the heart of the 100 Club’s mission is a promise to be there when first responders and their families need support most. One of the organization’s most important programs is its Line-of-Duty Death Benefit assistance, which provides immediate financial assistance to the families of first responders who lose their lives in the line of duty. During life’s most difficult moments, the 100 Club helps ensure families receive support from the community their loved one served.

The organization also helps support first responders through training opportunities, educational assistance, and programs that strengthen public safety throughout Western New York. Through fundraising events, memberships, sponsorships, and community support, the 100 Club continues to invest in those who dedicate their lives to serving others.

Executive Director Daniel Denz acknowledges the importance of giving back to first responders who put their lives on the line every day.

“As a former Police Chief and volunteer firefighter, I know firsthand the importance of community support for our local police, fire, and EMS services,” said Denz. “Knowing the citizens of our region have their collective backs and will help protect the protectors should something go wrong bolsters morale and helps first responders remain steadfast in carrying out their duties.”

The 100 Club of Buffalo offers several ways to get involved, including individual and corporate memberships for community members and businesses who want to support the mission. The organization also proudly offers Honorary Memberships to active and retired law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, and EMTs throughout Western New York. Honorary Membership is provided at no annual cost and includes many of the same benefits available to regular members, along with access to resources specifically designed to support the first responder community.

When asked why someone should join the mission, Denz shared, “It is a noble cause to assist those who watch out for our families, friends, and neighbors. I would ask them to become part of the 100 Club of Buffalo’s mission of protecting our protectors.”

Every membership helps strengthen the 100 Club’s ability to provide meaningful support to first responders and their families. By becoming a member, you join a network of individuals and businesses committed to ensuring Western New York’s first responders know their community stands behind them.

Together, we can continue protecting those who protect us.
